Lucien PETIT (born in 1957) : - Lot 102
Lucien PETIT (born in 1957) : Set of six sandstone sculptures in the shape of a column. Signed. Circa 1970/80 H 43 × Ø 8 cm; H 52 × W 8 × D 6 cm; H 58 × Ø 9 cm; H 97,5 × Ø 11 cm; H 121 × Ø 15 cm; H 124 × W 25 × D 19 cm Born in 1957 in Sancerre, Lucien Petit lives and works in Boisbelle, a village near La Borne. Trained in the techniques of ceramics, he associates very early on to a personal production the image of the passenger compartment, a recurring form in all his work. Seasoned in the production of multiple ceramic practices, Lucien Petit applies the principles of an assertive artistic approach. He is initiated and inspired by his friend and artist Daniel Pontoreau and has produced numerous works that can be seen around the world in contact with international artists. Also, he was Jacqueline Lerat's accomplice for fifteen years, which allows him today to confirm all his aspirations. Evoking the variety of habitat forms, but also the lifestyles they generate, the artist develops an interest in architecture, construction and more generally in the container governed by the contrary laws of form and counter-form, elevation and rockfall, organic and mineral.
