UNITED STATES. Boarding sword with bone hilt, single-branch guard with engraved iron palmette shell, curved blade with triple gutter engraved with designs (illegible). L: 90 cm, blade: 78 cm. SF. Circa 1770-1790. ABE Called the "American Made Revolutionary War Cutlass" (see Neumann's "Battle Weapons of the American Revolution" #177.SS p.362 ), this frustratingly short saber was produced during the American Revolutionary War with blades of various origins, often Spanish, as is the case with this example. UNITED STATES. Navy cultlass with bone hilt, single branch guard with engraved iron palmette, curved blade with triple gutter engraved with (unreadable) motifs.circa 1770-1790. No scabbard. FC. Known as the "American Made Revolutionary War Cutlass".
