Gustave MIKLOS (1888-1967) - Lot 85
Gustave MIKLOS (1888-1967) Project for cloisonne enamel or stained glass. Royal blue, orange, brown gouache and graphite on thin paper. Ca 1923-1924. Size : 26 x 20 cm. Framed. We do not know the exact destination of this project and if it was realized. Perhaps it was conceived for Jacques Doucet, a patron who solicited the artist a lot at that time? Or for Jean Goulden to whom G.Miklos often reserved the royal blue he uses here? Provenance Imré Cserespfalvi, French-Hungarian publisher; prof. Caty Galligan, his daughter, by succession. Bibliography: Danuta Cichocka, Gustave Miklos - The Byzantine Modernist - Catalogues raisonnés, AD36, p. 138.
