FANIONS. Blue and red two-sided silk pennant embroidered in orange thread with "6e RTS - 2eme Cie" and the porpoise, the reverse features a cabled naval anchor and the motto "toujours en tête" ("always in the lead"), orange thread bangs, brass shaft and badge by Drago, 25 rue Béranger, Paris. Format 36 X 36 cm. Indochina period. BE Created in 1926, the 6th regiment of Senegalese riflemen took an active part in the Liberation battles, landing in Provence and fighting for the liberation of Toulon under the command of Colonel Salan. In November 1944, it liquidated the Doubs pocket, then eliminated the last pockets of German resistance in the Haut-Rhin region, and at the end of January/beginning of February 1945, it liquidated the Colmar pocket. It was reorganized in 1946 for the Indochina campaign.
