Hugo VAN DER GOES (1475-85) after : Virgin and Child with donors Willem van Overbeke and his wife Johanna De Keysere. Triptych. Panel made in 1901 by E. Van Overbeke. Total dimensions of the triptych : 38 x 58 cm. Remake of the triptych kept in the Staedel Museum in Frankfurt. Small private devotional tryptic, the original central panel was made by Hugo van der Goes around 1475-1485 and the side panels (flaps) ten years later by an anonymous artist representing Guillaume van Overbeke, secretary of the great council of Mechelen, secretary of Charles the Bold and Philip the Handsome; he married Jeanne de Keysere on February 5, 1475. Provenance: former collection Van Overbecke then by family descent, kept in a castle in Sologne.
