H: 90 - W: 180 - D: 60 cm Our chest of drawers is very close to a model kept in the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles (USA). Gilles Joubert (1689-1775) was admitted to the master's program around 1715-1720 and became ordinary cabinetmaker of the Garde-meuble de la Couronne ten years later when he succeeded Jean François Oeben, remaining so from 1763 to 1774. He will be replaced in his functions by Jean-Henri Riesener. One of his most famous creations is the chest of drawers that he delivered for the bedroom of Queen Marie-Antoinette in Versailles.
