Charlotte CHAUCHET (attributed to) & PRIMAVERA - PARIS Ceramic baluster vase with flared neck hemmed on a small ring heel, model created circa 1916. Sinister decoration on the body of a landscape in green, yellow and blue enamels on a brown background, a double frieze of stripes and six small handles applied to the shoulder (small bubbles and cracks of firing). Mark in hollow of the manufacture to the reverse. Height: 50 cm - Diam (max): 32 cm History: Since 1912, Charlotte Chauchet participates in the creation of the Primavera workshops alongside her husband René Guilleré, founder of the Society of Decorative Artists, and the Laguionie family, owner of the Printemps department stores. Painter and designer, she became the main collaborator of the structure between 1913 and 1918 for which she created many pieces, including ceramics. She was then the artistic director of the house from 1922 to 1937. The model of our vase is reproduced on the first advertising leaflet made for Primavera which was inserted in the 1916 Blanc catalog. Bibliography: Alain-René Hardy, Primavera 1912-1972.
