FRANCE. The uniform of Major General Pierre PACAULT is made up of a horizon blue gabardine kepi decorated on the front with 3 finely sewn golden stars and a chinstrap embroidered with oak leaves and a border on the back cloth, black satinette interior headdress, embossed leather headband from the famous manufacturer E. Bidal, rue de Richelieu in Paris, the tunic in horizon blue gabardine with straight collar decorated at the bottom of the sleeves with 3 golden stars, golden buttons of the general officers, a pair of epaulettes of colonel of the Republican Guard in golden trimmings decorated with the button of the guard, in their poplar box with label of the house Bidal inscribed "Colonel Republican Guard, golden metal" (Pierre Pacault commanded the Guard in 1922-1924). Set of family origin. BE (slight discoloration of the tunic) PACAULT Pierre-Edmée-Félix (1871-1956), inspector of the Gendarmerie, Major General (1930). A graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique, lieutenant in the 3rd Engineers in 1896, he became captain of the Meuse Gendarmerie in 1902, where he was entrusted with delicate missions on the Luxembourg border (Briey strikes); "Citizen of Honor" of Mars-la-Tour, he was awarded the order of the Prussian Red Eagle, squadron leader in the 12th Legion in 1912, provost marshal of the 11th Corps in 1914, lieutenant colonel, provost marshal at Verdun, at the Moulin de Laffaux. Colonel (1922), he commanded the Republican Guard of Paris until 1924; Brigadier General (1926), he was an inspector in North Africa, then divisional inspector (1930) and inspector general of the Gendarmerie, he became a reserve officer in 1936, holder of numerous decorations.
