Infantry officer's sword model 1796 with gilt brass mounting, wooden spindle with silver filigree, pear-shaped pommel chiseled with foliage, single-branch guard, bivalve shell with straight quillon, folding counterguard, straight blade with hollow sides called "spadroon", blued and gilt to 2/3, engraved with scrolls and the monogram "GR" of King George III SF.
