POSTERS. "Final discharge in the name of the French Republic [] given in Paris, September 3, 1870". 50 x 33 cm, canvas. Against Napoleon III after the capitulation of Sedan. Caricatured with a fallen eagle on a leash, and accompanied by 2 captions: "regiment of perjurers, cowards and deceivers", "ministry of the public and universal execration". And underneath: "In the name of the supreme law of Public Salvation, and by the will of the sovereign People, We the undersigned, member of the National Assembly, have given definitive leave to the rascal, coward and murderer designated under the name of Napoleon III, and more commonly under the name of Badinguet, son of his father and mother, nephew of the great uncle, born we don't know where, engaged voluntarily in the capacity of deceiver, perjurer and murderer of the people, on December 2, 1851".
