These hangings are used to decorate the interior space and reinforce the protection of the Altai eagle families' yurts against the cold of the winter season.
They are ancient and differ in quality from current productions made from materials sourced in China.
These hangings are the work of each housewife and are renewed on certain occasions.
Some are dated, while others are deliberately not completely finished, as they were given by the groom's family on the occasion of a wedding. In such cases, it's up to his bride to finish the small unfinished portion.
