Collection of Mr L.G, private collection of European headgear from the two world wars, composed of cloth headgear and steel helmets. This collection has been built up from private purchases, at flea markets and on internet auction sites. The collector has asked us to offer all lots at a uniform starting price, all items are sold as such and without claim. This collection is not covered by our usual guarantee of authenticity. We ask that all interested bidders study the photographs provided or request any others they may need, these requests must be made at least 24 hours prior to the sale. All bidders should be sure of what they are bidding and buying. Many items in this collection, if not original, may have been produced from original pieces. Buyers must satisfy themselves as to what is original and what is not. The expert declines all responsibility and limits himself for these lots to a physical description of the objects.

Lot 272 to 398

Michel Guénot Collection: This former French army officer built up a collection dedicated to General George S. Patton whom he admired. Patton whom he particularly admired to the point of participating for many years in multiple re-enactments and remembrance convoys. He was thus able to acquire a certain number of original pieces such as these regimental flags or this very faithful reconstitution of the flag offered to the general by his staff 15 days before his accidental death in December 1945. He has carefully reconstructed the emblematic outfits of the general with the help of period effects but also of high quality reproductions.
